FEATURED MSPACE
EFFICIENCY IN CHANGE: State School System Transitions with MSpace Minnesota State Colleges and Universities
In 1995 Minnesota State Colleges and Universities was established to manage Minnesota’s community colleges, technical colleges and state universities. The system is comprised of 32 colleges and universities, including 25 two-year colleges and 7 state universities separate from the University of Minnesota. The Board has policy responsibility for system planning, academic programs, fiscal management, personnel, admissions requirements, tuition and fees, and rules and regulations. This board of leaders collaborate on a regular basis, but coming together from all corners of Minnesota can be expensive, time consuming and inefficient.
Minnesota State Colleges and Universities asked MSpace to create a communication solution that omitted travel time and enhanced the shared interaction between board and faculty members - all while accounting for an upcoming major transition into new Minnesota State Colleges and Universities facilities.

SERVING OUR TROOPS PROJECT: Rochester to Kosovo 2008 Supported by MSpace
Saint Paul-based nonprofit organization, Serving Our Troops, is dedicated to honoring our Minnesota National Guard members and their families, as well other troops from across the nation. To demonstrate their extreme appreciation for theses soldiers’ commitment to our country, Serving Out Troups bring them just a bit of Saint Paul, MN –both here, at home and thousands of miles away—a home-grown, mouth-watering steak dinner with the family!
For the third year in a row, on Sunday, June 1, 2008, Serving Our Troops, Saint Paul and Rochester residents, and Minnesota businesses came together to serve up Sunday dinner with the family for our troops. Over 300 Minnesota National Guard Members currently stationed in the Kosovo region of Serbia met the Serving Our Troops team who. working with southern MN communities, traveled to Camp Bondsteel to serve our soldiers and other troops a steak dinner—all the way from Saint Paul and Rochester, Minnesota! Back home at the Mayo Civic Center in Rochester, families simultaneously enjoyed a meal and great entertainment, with the entire event connected through video!
To make this event possible, MSpace and TDS came together bringing each of their specialties to the forefront. MSpace leveraged their expertise in videoconferencing to create an enhanced communication environment which allowed MN families to virtually interact live with their soldiers serving in Kosovo. TDS established a sound communication infrastructure which allowed for a consistent and high-quality video IP connection that the videoconference system requires in order to provide a successful videoconference call. Spokesman Mike Zipko said about 150 videoconferences had been held over more than four hours on Sunday. An estimated 60 family members were able to talk directly with loved ones.
This partnership between MSpace and TDS added great value to the overall success to the “Rochester to Kosovo 2008" event as it brought families together while there were still many miles between them.

MSpace Steps Into the Ring With BROKER BOXING 2008
The Box It Foundation
The Broker Boxing Federation (BBF) and the Box It Foundation are dedicated to the people and the communities of Chicago by supporting those in need. Each year the foundation selects four local charities to distribute the money raised by BBF and other foundations that hosted events.
MSpace strongly believed in the event’s purpose and quickly made the decision to join and sponsor the BBF and the Box It Foundation in a significant way. MSpace hosted a VIP Lounge as the last destination before the Boxer entered the ring. MSpace’s integrated high definition videoconferencing system captured the intense energy of each boxer’s anticipation moments before the fight in an exclusive one-on-one interview.
Over 1400 industry professionals came together for one incredible night as BBF 2008 set a new milestone in charitable giving. This year’s event raised nearly $360,000, which to date since the organization’s inception in 2003 has reached over $1.3 million. All of which continues to create a significant impact on local Chicago charities and communities.
